Acupuncture
Traditional acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into specific areas called acupuncture points for the treatment of internal complaints and physiological imbalances. Sport/orthopaedic acupuncture treats injuries and joint problems, stimulates the nervous system, and releases muscular knots and constrictions.

Electro-Acupuncture Therapy
Involves the addition of electrodes delivering electrical impulses which results in further stimulation reducing inflammation, and releasing constricted tissue.

Sliding Cupping
Sliding cupping is like an ‘inverted massage’. It decreases muscle tension, increases circulation and detoxifies the body. More surface area can be covered while offering a massage-like experience for patients. The suction action of the cups draws blood to the area which expedites tissue healing and promotes cell turnover. The negative pressure also promotes lymphatic drainage which influences our immune system.

Stationary Cupping
This has the same effect as sliding cupping, but allows for a more sustained and concentrated pressure in specific areas.

Tuina Massage
This is a TCM therapeutic massage technique and body work.

Gua sha
Involves the use of a jade massage tool for the release of myofascial tissue and for the promotion of blood circulation.

Treatable conditions:
Acupuncture can be used to address a wide variety of health needs including muscle tension, injuries, joint pain, neurological conditions, radiculopathies, migraines, vertigo, dizziness, digestive complaints, mental health concerns, gynecological complaints, hormone imbalances and more.

Blood Letting
This technique allows for the withdrawal of stagnant blood from tissue which reduces congestion and pressure and eliminates wastes and oxidants. It also promotes cell repair. It can be used for toxin removal, acute and chronic swelling, joint complaints and extreme muscle tension.

Moxibustion Therapy

This is an adjunctive modality aimed at stimulating movement in the muscles and meridians via a warming device.

Acu-Laser Therapy
This involves the use of a wireless infrared laser. This device has a few effects such as pain reduction, anti-inflammatory responses, and soft tissue and nerve regeneration. The application affects a photo-chemical response that initiates changes in membrane polarity of cells, the increase in ATP production and other intra and extra-cellular processes.

Combination Treatment of Acupuncture & Therapeutic Massage An effective integration of traditional Acupuncture with an added 30 minute Therapeutic Massage at the end of either a 45 or 60 minute Acu treatment. This works well for those who feel they have extra tension that needs to be released or for anyone who needs extra relaxation time.
